In 2003, the Commonwealth and State Governments each contributed $700,000 to establish the BushbankSA Revolving Fund. Under this programme conservation land is purchased, a covenant (Native Vegetation Act 1991) is applied and the land resold to owners with the means and commitment to manage them for conservation. BushbankSA acquires land that meets its selection criteria including the extent to which the property meets the criteria used by the Native Vegetation Council in determining the significance of an area for protection under a Heritage Agreement. Find out more about land acquisition
